The Republic of Zambia is a landlocked country in southern Africa, bordered by Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its capital and largest city is Lusaka. Zambia covers an area of about 752,618 square kilometers (290,587 square miles) and has a population of over 19 million people.
